Weber Shandwick goes for gold: four IPRA Award wins
The International Public Relations Association (IPRA) announced their Golden World Awards (GWA) for Excellence 2015 winners this week. There were almost 450 awards entries – a record for the GWA’s – and Weber Shandwick brought home an unprecedented four wins.
Weber Shandwick teams from India and China won the following awards:
- India’s “The Taj Smiles Again” campaign – a brilliant program aimed at raising awareness of access to healthcare across rural India – won in two categories – the Public Sector and NGO awards.
- In China, the successful PR-led integrated campaign launching DENZA’s electric vehicle, won the hearts and minds of many in China, as well as the ‘Launch of a New Product’ GWA.
- And the China Kindle team won the Social Media for PR category, for their efforts in re-igniting a deeper love for reading in China, achieved through generating social conversations on reading, and reframing the way people thought of books and reading.
The awards will be formally presented, along with an overall IPRA Grand Prix for Excellence, at a gala event in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 28 September.
